Seasick Steve

Saturday 30 June

About the artist

Seasick Steve’s musical victory march began in 2006, when Jools Holland invited him to play at his annual New Years Eve TV-show Hootenanny. Although still unknown, the singer-songwriter made his mark, performing with a beat-up Japanese guitar with only three strings and an old wooden box to stomp on. His popularity soared after that and the rest, as they say, is history. With his repertoire of gritty blues rock and country blues, the American has played pretty much every big festival in the world, has sold out many a large venue and has a knack for coming up with extraordinary album titles: his debut major-label release from 2008 was entitled I Started Out With Nothin And I Still Got Most Of It Left and 2024 saw the release of his latest album, A Trip A Stumble A Fall Down on Your Knees.
