For Warren Haynes, this won’t be his first performance in Grolloo; in 2017 he attended with Gov’t Mule, the band he founded with bassist Allen Woody as a hobby project when they were both members of the Allman Brothers Band. Before that, Haynes had been in the Dickey Betts Band. And although ‘the Mule’ is still alive and kicking (their latest album Peace… Like A River was just released last June), the guitarist also entertains an active solo career. He picked up the guitar at age 11 and has been playing ever since. So far, Haynes released three albums and has collaborated with a string of other musicians. For instance, he recently was a guest on Dolly Parton’s new album Rockstar. It all goes to show his great versatility.
