Who better to pay tribute to Harry “Cuby” Muskee and his Blizzards than Erwin Java? The guitarist was a member of the band from 1986 to 2011 and shares a striking similarity with his former bandleader: following in the footsteps of Muskee, who was inducted into the Dutch Blues Hall of Fame at the age of 70 in 2011, Java will receive the same honor this October… three months after his 70th birthday. His career began in the late 1970s with the band White Honey, after which he played in various other bands and as a session musician, developing into a versatile musician with his own unique style. This will be Java’s third tribute to C+B in Grolloo: he previously played their hit Through The Window Of My Eyes with Laurence Jones, and later performed with Erwin Java’s Travel Party. This year, he’s bringing a band with a brass section, as well as guest vocalists Tollak Ollestad and Robbert Fossen.
