About the artist

Van Morrison is a Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, author, poet and multi-instrumentalist, who is widely considered one of the most influential artists in the history of music. The Irishman has always been a man of his own when it comes to musical styles, playing music ranging from jazz to Celtic sounds and from blue-eyed soul to folk. Yet, the raw blues he grew up with (his teenage idols were artists like Howlin’ Wolf and Sonny Boy Williamson) remains at the heart of his music. The Northern Irish-born singer, composer and saxophonist has an impressive record: he has won multiple Grammys and is known for his indefatigable work rate. Now 80 years old, his age doesn’t hold him back: in the last four years, he has released no less than six albums; the most recent being the blues album Somebody Tried To Sell Me A Bridge, released this year. With his songcraft of the highest level and live performances showcasing his musicianship, any performance is a true treat.
