Welcome to The Blues Village Grolloo
The picturesque village of Grolloo, with a population of around 800, is located in the Dutch province of Drenthe 11 km southeast of Assen, the birthplace of one of the most famous blues singers of the Netherlands, Harry Muskee.
For years, Muskee lived in a farmhouse in Grolloo where his band Cuby & the Blizzard, founded in 1964, used to rehearse. Thanks to their musical success, they put Grolloo on the map as blues village of the Netherlands. Since 2011, the farm has been turned into the Cuby & the Blizzards museum.
Grolloo itself has only a few hotels, but there are plenty of accommodations available in the region. More information can be found here.
Grolloo is located at the N376. You can use this route planner when traveling by car.
